Mobile Repairs Emergency? Now You Can Order An Ambulance To Come Fix Your Phone!
Two young high school graduates in the United States have created a awesomely unique mobile repairs service.
With the prevalence of smartphones and their susceptibility to breaking, mobile repairs services can be a worthwhile business to invest in. However this can mean that the phone repair market can become over saturated. For new businesses breaking into the field, getting their business out there and gaining new clients can be tough.
One thing that can make a phone repair service stand out from the crowd is a more affordable price than their competitors. Another is fast service, as well as delivering to your customers something that many of your competitors do not.
Device EMS offers its customers all these things, with a unique twist – they offer it all from the back of an old school ambulance!
Two high school graduates in the States have created an emergency mobile repairs ambulance!
By putting a clever twist on the “emergency” of breaking ones phone, Device EMS have found a unique way to stand out from their competitors.
The founders of the business – Alex Orr, 22, and Hunter Fryman, 21 – only graduated from high school 4 years ago. The two friends have been repairing tech gadgets since they were kids, and consider themselves to be as close as brothers.
Device EMS also offer 24 hour service, to establish their brand as an entirely mobile technology repair service.
At the moment, the only technicians are Orr and Fryman, as well as Orr’s girlfriend, Sonali Patel. While this is a cool way to open a repair store, it would be interesting to see how well Device EMS does with expanding their business to include paid employees outside themselves. Orr and Fryman say they haven’t given themselves a salary yet, and all their savings has gone into opening the business.
Driving to and from wherever the broken device is can cost a company in gas and time, and once Device EMS want to expand they will have to consider the cost of paying employees the time it takes to drive to the client.
Device EMS however would want to continue offering affordable prices to their customers, so as not to lose them to competitors. This means they could actually lose money, in comparison to their repair competitors who specialise in walk in repairs.
While it’s a cool idea, it may not be financially viable in the long term.
