Mobile Phone Repairs Company
Sued For Posting Clients Private Pictures Online
An Austin couple is suing a mobile phone repairs company for publicly posting their personal pornographic images.
An employee of the mobile phone repairs store allegedly posted the couples personal pictures and uploaded them onto Facebook.
The couple is Dane Jaskinia and Brittany, Jaskinia’s wife, and the mobile phone repairs company they are suing is Repair Services incl in Plano.
Dane Jaskinia states that he sent his phone in for repair, and a few days later the pictures were uploaded onto his Facebook page.
Jaskinia says there were about 40 pornographic images uploaded in total, in full view of all of the couples friends and family.
Evidence the Couple have for Suing Repair Service Inc.
The couple believe someone from Plano uploaded the images, as Jaskinia took a screenshot of the images which proved that his Facebook account was signed in around Plano.
Jaskinia describes it as a complete invasion of privacy, and says that the photos were in the trash bin feature of his phone.
The couple believes this suggests a Plano employee snooped around in the contents of their digital trash bin and posted them on Jaskinia’s Facebook.
Is Repair Services Inc. at Fault?
An employee at another mobile phone repairs shop told KVUE that he sees pornographic pictures on phones and computers often when repairing them.
He says he tries to turn a blind eye, but that these photos should not be on your phone, tablet or computer.
Jascinia’s attorney Rob Ranco replied, saying such a request is unreasonable.
It is not a phone repair specialists job to snoop around in people’s personal items on the device they are repairing, let alone to go through the contents of items they have trashed.
The couple are suing for at least $1 million with Rob Ranco as their lawyer, and they also want an official apology.
In court proceedings, the Plano mobile phone repairs company denies all accusations.
