Apple Store Repair Policy To Be Changed:
Apple Looks At Implementing Off Site Repair Services With Offer Of Stand In iPhone
Apple is looking at launching a new Apple store repair policy in the near future.
Tech Times reported in October of 2015 that Apple was planning to change the face of their Apple store repair services by providing customers with a temporary fill in phone while theirs was being repaired.
Apple plans to implement the new policy in order to cut down on waiting times for Apple store repair.
The news report states that the new program will initially be implemented in some parts of the United States as well as Japan and Europe.
The new program allows the broken iPhones to be sent away for repair, rather than customers having to wait at the Genius Bar for their repair to be done in store.
The initiative will only cover the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 6s Plus.
Issues that would necessitate an off site repair include any problems with iTunes connectivity, switching on, or booting up beyond the Apple logo.
Apple has stated that these issues take longer to resolve and therefore eliminating on site repairs for these more complicated repairs ensures that Apple employees are free to help more customers.
Off site repairs are likely to take three to five business days. In the meantime, customers will be provided with a stand in iPhone 6.
Apple employees have said that the decision whether or not to send a broken device away for repair will lie not with Apple employees but on a predetermined system.
This new Apple store repair service has not yet been posited to begin in Apple stores worldwide. Most likely Apple will test the waters with the new system in certain locations before they decide to implement it in every store.
This could make the Apple store repair a better service, primarily in minimizing wait times. However it could also be detrimental to Apple, as some customers will no doubt find the send away procedure an inconvenience, despite the stand in phone.

Apple Store Repairs To Become Obsolete? Apple Planning New App That Allows You To Fix Your Own Device
Apple has reportedly been planning a new app that can assist you with any problems you are having with your Apple device.
The new app is poised to be able to help an Apple device user to troubleshoot the error, offer solutions to popular issues, and even provide repair options. Not only this, but the new app will provide users with the option of talking to an advisor directly, or scheduling Apple store repairs.
On top of this, the app will offer an array of guides and documents that will help you to get the most for your bucks with each Apple device. There will also be information provided on how to buy an insurance plan for the device.
Reports say that this app will be attached to user’s Apple IDs. This feature ensures that any device a user owns will automatically appear within the app, so that the user can address all the issues and repair options of that device with ease.
This App has not yet been officially declared by Apple. The App was instead released to the public accidentally, through leaked screenshots.
Therefore, we have no time frame for which to expect this new app. When it does arrive however, it could be a game changer. What is sure to happen is of course a decrease of the need for walk in and bookings of Apple store repairs.
This app will doubtless prove itself to be extremely helpful, as many issues with Apple devices can often be solved without repairing hardware. Giving Apple users the ability to troubleshoot issues they are experiencing will save them the time and inconvenience of having to leave their home for Apple store repairs.
However, the need for Apple store repairs is unlikely to disappear completely any time in the near future. While this App will allow customers to solve small software issues, Apple store repairs will still be necessary for the more complicated hardware repairs. These repairs require technicians as well as often new parts.
So while in store repairs are likely to diminish in foot traffic, Apple store repairs will still be around as long as Apple products are still on the market.
