New Apple iPhone: Screen Repair To Become More Difficult?
We look at speculations on new screen features of the upcoming iPhone 7
With the much-anticipated advent of the iPhone 7, Apple fans are speculating across the globe as to what exciting tech innovations Apple will present to us this time round.
Apple is poised to publicly release their latest iPhone in September of 2016, with the product expected to go on sale 1-2 weeks later.
Apple looks set to release its new product with a whole horde of new innovations, if speculations are to be believed.
There is a lot of speculation surrounding the screen of the iPhone 7 in particular. Many devout Apple fans believe Apple will release an entirely new screen design with their latest product.
Theories circulating for the iPhone 7 screen include:
- Entirely waterproof design
- No home button, with a fingerprint sensor touch ID instead
- Possible 3d display
- Two different options for phone and screen sizes
- Multi force touch
- Possibly a borderless OLED display
German website iPhoneTricks.com has come up with a concept design of what the new iPhone 7 could look like, resulting in the video below. Included in the video are the concepts that Apple have been speculated to be working on for the iPhone 7:
Notably, the concept video includes a borderless screen display. The screen looks to be OLED, something Apple have been reported to have Samsung working on for them.
The video also shows the absence of an on-screen home button, according to rumours indicating Apple could be dropping this feature.
If Apple did decide to go along with dropping the physical home button, they would likely incorporate an on-screen home button sensitive to the users touch using fingerprint ID scanning.
Another interesting concept shown in the video is the use of an easily customized home screen, more similar to Samsungs.
Will an OLED screen impair Apple iPhone Screen Repair?
If Apple does go ahead with a borderless OLED display screen (pictured), it will be interesting to see how this affects any new Apple iPhone screen repair. Will such a technology make the new Apple iPhone screen repair easier or harder? Unfortunately, it looks likely to drive up the cost of the new Apple iPhone screen repair, as well as the difficulty of repair.
Furthermore, it looks like the OLED screen is likely to make the screen more susceptible to damage and breakages, rather than more durable. The much speculated OLED screen is therefore likely to increase the numbers of Apple iPhone screen repair.
The site asserts that the concept video is entirely hypothetical.
Now we just have to wait until September to see if the iPhone 7 matches up to the concept video. If it’s anything at all like what iPhone Tricks has visualized its sure to be amazing.
