Apple iPhone 6 Repair of Battery Bug: Apple Admits iPhone 6s Defect
Ever since the release of the iPhone 6s and 6s plus, users have been reporting issues with the phones battery.
The problem does not seem to indicate any need of an iPhone 6 repair however, as the issue was relatively widespread amongst 6s users. Such a common issue instead indicated a fault with the iPhone 6s hardware.
A few days ago, Apple publicly confirmed the issue, and have ensured iPhone users they are working to solve the problem.
Apple has admitted a bug exists in the iPhone 6s and 6s plus that seems to cause the battery indicator to show inaccurate battery levels. Users were experiencing running out of battery regularly due to the battery indicator failing to show them their correct battery usage.
In response Apple has issued a report that states the problem seems to arise within users who travel to and from different time zones. Apple said they are working at fixing the problem, but didn’t offer a specific time frame as to when users can expect the problem to be resolved.
If you are experiencing similar problems, Apple suggests doing the following:
- Restart your iPhone
- Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that “Set Automatically” is turned on
- If this doesn’t resolve the issue, contact Apple Support
The bug doesn’t seem to affect the actual battery of the iPhone 6s and 6 plus, only the display of its usage on the screen. The fault then lies not with the battery of the iPhone 6s and 6s plus, but rather with iOS 9.2.
iPhone users are still optimistic however, with the hopes that Apple’s public acknowledgement of the issue as well as the incoming iOS 9.3 update will mean a permanent fix. iOS 9.3 has been promised to be a major upgrade from iOS 9.2.
Apple has been criticised in regards to poor battery capabilities with its recent models. However, the iPhone 6s plus has been shown to have a much larger battery capacity than the iPhone 6s.
